Facebook addon configuration for obSocialSubmit

Create a Facebook App

In order to configure Facebook addon, you need to have a Facebook Application, go create one (or even more) at http://developers.facebook.com. More instruction about it can be found at: http://foobla.com/faqs/obsocialsubmit/create-facebook-app-to-use-with-obsocialsubmit-joomla-extension.html

Configure obSocialSubmit Facebook add-on

After installed the Facebook addon, click on the addon to show up below screen.

1. Fill Application ID and click [Save/Apply] button.

2. [Login with Facebook] button appears. Click on it to go to Facebook authentication window. Follow the instruction on that window to login into your Facebook account.
3. Welcome back, your Facebook account is now connected to obSocialSubmit. DONE.

To find out Facebook App ID, please follow the screenshot below

Yes, it works fine on all supported Joomla version: Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.7.

Hmm......did you what you instructed and created app on facebook but I still not getting past this on the Facebook Connect:

An error occurred with obSocialSubmit. Please try again later.

What in the world do I do about this......also it seems I cannot get any of the other social media apps to link up as well??
I have Joomla 1.6.....What gives?

The addon works great. You need to purchase the facebook page add on for obsocial submit. I went to the developer page on facebook and created the app as instructed. Put the information from the facebook app back in the configuration for the addon and told it to connect. It then asked what "page" I would like to connect to. Works great. Only problem I would say is to watch out. any time you hit "apply" or "save and close" it will post to the facebook page.

Recently, my posts to Facebook mysteriously disappeared (all of them) upon submitting a new article in Joomla. Since there isn't any real documentation for obSocialSubmit or its add-ons, I resorted to my own means.

First, I tried enabling debugging (not documented) in the FacebookPage add-on in Joomla. Even though Joomla was presenting Facebook confirmation messages, I found the following error: (#200) Feed story publishing is disabled for this application.

Upon researching at the Facebook developer site, this message means my Facebook app has been selected for blocking. To fix this, I had to go to http://www.intern.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=dev_feedstories_appeal and submit an appeal. This appeal will take two weeks.

It would be great if the obSocialSubmit web site would have more documentation on these issues before they take your $70.

We're planning to improve the whole FAQs system as well as built-in User Manual (if you use obSocialSubmit MI edition, you will see a User Manual box on important pages). Documenting is long term progress, so feel free to open support ticket if you have any question.

Thong. I saw your response to my ticket today. Going through mail after being ill. can you urgently get some docs to get the facebook pages publishing to be updated as the screens you use and facebook use are different. thanks

I am using the Facebook Page add-on and the facebook token expires after about two hours and posts are no longer published to facebook. It can be fixed by pressing the Load Pages button in the admin backend but this is not what I want. Can you fix this please?
